karaoke singing can be a liberating experience. However, it can be very distressing for the less experienced. So here are some simple tips from experienced KJs and singers to make your experience is fun for you and the public.
* Before leaving, practice in front of the mirror. It may not be aware that strange grin when you try to hit a note. You do not want the audience to pay more attention to the face of your performance.
* Choose a song that is not too exaggerated, but it is well known. You want to keep your audience and not get bored before the end of the first chorus.
* Learn the song. There is no excuse for forgetting the words, especially if they are flowing in front of you in bright neon letters!
* Unless this is your area of expertise, please do not rap! You should be commended for knowing the lyrics by heart in the song on the radio, but it takes much practice to look good doing rap. Also, do not decide now is the time to try a rock song, if you are a classically trained opera singer, or vice versa.
* While waiting for their turn, no nag KJ. They hate this. They usually have their own preferences in the order of songs, so do not worry, you’ll get your turn.
* When set the scene, trying to clear your mind of everything but the song. Remember not to cry, that’s what the microphone is for. Smile if the song is gay as this will come out in her voice. Always, always, always have fun. If you’re not enjoying it, nobody else will.
* It’s a good idea to drink plenty of water beforehand. This will keep you and your vocal cords hydrated. Dry mouth is not appropriate at any time.
* If there is a point in the song where it needs to maintain a long note, start with the microphone from the mouth and slowly pull forward. This causes the constant sound of the note. Not to mention you’ll look like a professional.
* The most important thing is to have fun and be willing to look ridiculous. He hoped that the audience laughs with you and not you. However, if making a fool of yourself means sloppy drunk, laughing at you. Stay sober as possible. A few sips of something to loosen the nerves are fine. Taking eight shots before going to make you look like your song choice should my “I ho, yo ho, it’s a pirate’s life for me!”
If all else fails and you still do not trust your skills, take singing lessons. Professional help never hurt anyone, right?
